The About Cree ProjectThe Cree Culture Project was created to celebrate the heritage and language of Cree Communities living on Turtle Island. The project aims to develop awareness of language and culture through traditional stories, language basics, and community engagement. Our materials are designed to engage students and the people in Canada's Cree communities. |
Our Journey to Promote Cree Culture
The Cree Language Project was the start of a journey to promote strength and diversity within Canada's Cree communities. The project has since grown beyond language as culture and language very much connected. The About Cree program now creates awareness of community values and the people and businesses that collectively develop these values through traditional and contemporary ideas.
Our mission is to inspire, educate, and fortify the Cree culture as an important part of Canada. Our team believes that, by sharing knowledge and fostering connections, we can create a bright future for all Cree communities. Join us as we weave the threads of tradition, language, and community to strengthen the tapestry of the Cree heritage.
Participate
The Cree Language Project depends on contributions from the community. Our website has been designed to encourage contribution of stories, language resources, and community profiles. Participation is simple, just email our editor! We are specifically looking for traditional stories, community profiles, and other promotional content (we offer restricted advertisement access). The project team works with a variety of media including text, images, audio, and video. We look forward to working with individuals, organizations, and businesses within the Cree Nation.

Our Sponsors
|
AboutCree.ca needs your support as we work collaboratively to profile the communities and cultures of Canada's Indigenous communities. We are specifically looking for resources that can be shared to preserve the collective knowledge of Cree language and cultural heritage. You can help by submitting stories, links to resources, requesting an interview, or running advertisements to help cover our administrative costs. We thank our current sponsors who have helped our core team to where we are now - but we still have a long way to go, and a lot of ideas to build |
